'To Strive, To Seek' was originally written for the 2014 Renault Fic Exchange, as a gift for Lilliburlero.
The smallest thing can change a life. In Mervyn's case, it was the position of a bed in a surgical ward in war-time Bridstow and the chance gift of a copy of the East Africa Pilot.

After the battle of Hogwarts, Dennis Creevey finds the funeral service and its aftermath, the mourning feast, all too hard to take. So he walks. At the end of the lake, in an area he has not previously visited, he finds an old man digging a grave for his “Dear Captain”.
